Capital Projects in Mining Gets Boost with CIM Sponsorship from Summit Steel Buildings.

Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM)  and Summit Steel Buildings are excited to announce their sponsorship of the Capital Projects Symposium being held November 4 through 6, 2025 in Montreal. Summit Steel Buildings is a leading company in industrial and commercial pre-engineered steel structural construction and a custom all-in-one turnkey building solution.

CIM’s Capital Projects Symposium is the only global industry event that focuses 100% on mining projects. It is organized by The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) and focuses on the key elements that result in successful project execution, project development, financing and execution methods. The conference takes place at the Centre Mont-Royal in Montreal and builds on the success of the previous event in 2024, which showcased 29 presenters and session chairs and 6 participating countries.

Summit Steel Buildings was founded in 2019 and has grown to be a premier manufacturing and construction supplier in the pre-engineered building industry. Their engineering team provides full stamped engineered drawings for permit and construction across North America. They fabricate their commercial and industrial steel structures in either Canada or the U.S. at multiple factories strategically located throughout the continent to ensure they can deliver inland and to any port on the east and west coasts without incurring tariffs or border complications.

Darren Sperling, co-owner and president of Summit Steel Buildings says: “On behalf of the entire team, we’re proud to work with CIM and the mining industry across North America. We hope our support of such a great organization will strengthen the relationships between mining, resources, steel manufacturing and the industrial building industries.”

Summit Steel Buildings continues its strategic alliance with CIM as a participant and exhibitor at CIM CONNECT Convention + Expo in Vancouver 2024 and through our shared interactions and mutual association at PDAC: The World’s Premier Mineral Exploration and Mining Convention. “We’ve had such a great experience with the CIM team over the years,” Sperling says. “Our sponsorship recognizes the importance of their work with the mining sector.”

The Summit Steel Buildings leadership team includes President Darren Sperling, Senior Director Frank Melo and Paul Mitchell, who are responsible for the company's overall strategy and project management, with over 50 years of combined experience in the pre-engineered steel building industry. The forward-thinking team has forged a reputation for making all aspects of pre-engineered metal building projects work seamlessly on time and on budget, both in manufacturing and in installation of structural steelwork. They build value that lasts. The company is headquartered in downtown Vancouver and has offices in London, Toronto and a new one opening in North Carolina.

Whether redeveloping existing buildings and structures or creating new ones from the ground up, Summit Steel Buildings strives to ensure the result is consistently above and beyond expectations. Their friendly team is happy to assist in finding the perfect building solution for any storage or operational need. Don’t hesitate to contact Summit Steel Buildings for your free consultation and quote. They’ll also be happy to provide you with complimentary preliminary drawings.
